Start with the same scope
Quotes are easier to compare when each builder is pricing the same drawings, inclusion level, site access assumptions, services and finish expectations. If one quote includes work that another leaves out, the lower number may not be the better pathway.
Ask what is excluded
Clarify approvals, engineering, demolition, service upgrades, site preparation, rock, retaining, landscaping, fixtures, selections and final cleaning. Exclusions are not automatically a problem, but they need to be understood before the project moves forward.
Look for a clear next step
A strong quote pathway explains what happens next: what still needs review, what choices affect price, what timing depends on approvals, and when a more detailed contract conversation can happen.
